This serenely composed rug suits both traditional and clean modern tastes, with carved floral medallions floating atop looped pile in an open grid. Interest comes from the three dimensional construction: the raised medallions are woven in silk plush, and the ground is executed in flat wool. The design is taken from a favorite vintage auction carpet, where the scale was much more diminutive. Three colorways include a pair of rich earth tones and a stunning version in shades of olive and burgundy on pale blue.
